At The Do Better Studio, we believe movement and care should support safety, dignity, and regulation—not pressure or performance. These agreements help us create a space where many bodies, identities, and experiences can belong.

1. Bodies Are Not Problems to Fix

All bodies are welcome here—without conditions. We do not treat bodies as projects or require improvement, pain tolerance, weight loss, or a specific level of fitness to belong.

2. Access Is Not a Favor

Rest, modifications, support tools, and accommodations are expected and encouraged. Needing support is not a failure—it’s part of being human.

3. Choice and Consent Come First

You always have options:

  • Participation is optional
  • Rest is allowed
  • Opting out needs no explanation
  • Touch, cueing, and feedback are consent-based

4. Move at Your Own Pace

There is no “falling behind.” Speed, intensity, and endurance are not measures of worth. You are encouraged to listen to your body and move in ways that feel supportive.

5. We Name Harm and Practice Repair

We do not default to neutrality. If harm happens, we address it with accountability and care—centering impact over intent and prioritizing repair over defensiveness.

6. Respect Names, Pronouns, and Identities

We use inclusive language and respect self-identified names and pronouns. Misgendering and identity-based harm are not tolerated.

7. No Fixing, Policing, or Body Commentary

We avoid unsolicited advice, body comparisons, diet talk, or comments on appearance. Healing is not a performance, and no one is here to be evaluated.

8. Shared Responsibility for Learning

Ongoing education around anti-racism, anti-ableism, fat liberation, and LGBTQIA+ inclusion is a collective responsibility. People most impacted by harm are not required to educate others.

9. Community Care Over Productivity

You are welcome as you are—tired, learning, changing. Worth is not measured by output, consistency, or effort.

10. This Is a Living Practice

These agreements are not static. We commit to listening, adjusting, and doing better as we learn.
